The editors at The Gravity of the Thing are so pleased to learn our first print publication, Stranged Writing: A Literary Taxonomy, is a finalist for the 2022 INDIES Book of the Year Award in the anthologies category. A very big congratulations to our contributors and editors!
Stranged Writing is a collection of defamiliarized creative writing curated according to biological taxonomy (species, genus, family, order, class, phylum, kingdom, and domain) using word count. The hardcover edition includes a screen-printed dust jacket that transforms into unique literary organisms or book sculptures, the goal being a dimensional and tactile reading experience. The winners of the 2022 INDIES Awards will be announced on June 15th. In the meantime, we look forward to learning more about the other finalists in the anthology category.
