By day, Kaitlin Stone works as the LGBTQ+ Advocacy Specialist for a nonprofit aimed at supporting survivors of domestic violence. Through this work, she uses her own experiences as a queer survivor of domestic and sexual violence living with C-PTSD to reach folks like her, providing resources, advocacy, and emotional support. By night, Kaitlin is an MFA student at Portland State University, focusing on fiction writing. Somewhere in there she finds time to eat, sleep, and play with Milo, her cat. Kaitlin’s ultimate goal, through both her work as a domestic violence advocate and her writing, is to destigmatize the experience of survivors and tell diverse, interesting, and varied stories of their lives that include, but are not limited to, their trauma.
